Calling All Subjects

October 30th, 2008 5:47 pm · 4 Comments

I have just set up the final component of my home studio - the backdrop.  I’ve had the 9-ft rolls of paper lying on the floor in our entrance for over a month, at least.  I’ve finally installed a pulley system to raise and lower a metal bar over which I can install a backdrop.  I have two rolls of paper, black and grey, and plan to sew a few more fabric backdrops for various themes.  Now all I need are the subjects; that’s where you come in!  If you are, or anyone you know is, looking for portraits, by all means, please contact me.  I am always looking for willing subjects to photograph.  Neil is getting pretty sick of being in front of the camera.

I really enjoy portraiture (particularly black and white).  I find it difficult and sometimes a bit awkward to position an entire body, but a face is of the utmost interest.  I enjoy observing, drawing and photographing faces.  Understanding its details, its lines, its wrinkles, its wear, its character, its expression.  A face is truly the outward expression of one’s soul.  I want to capture the soul of the person.  If you have any interest, please do not hesitate to contact me either through this site, or via email address martelc (at) hotmail (dot) com.

Hey Crystal I would love to be your willing subject for a few shots. In the new year I will be needing a portrait for some marketing materials and website of mine. Long story for a comment but hit me up at my email and we can discuss further.

Great! We’ll get together in the new year once the craziness of the holiday season winds down. We’ll discuss it more closer to then. Good luck with the site. Is it a new one?

Sounds great! The site will be for the new career that I am planning to switch into. Still in the preliminary stages and will be working part-time in the beginning but wanted to have everything ready for the beginning of the transition from cooking in the new year.

There is still some schooling that I have to finish up first as well.

Wow! Congratulations on the big career change! I’m looking forward to hearing all about it. No problem waiting until you have the time. I’ll only be that much better :)
