Before I Die

I would like to solve the Rubix Cube.  It’s one of the useless skills that I would like to possess before I’m worm food.  On the way home from the office, I watched as a master manipulated a 5×5x5 cube with amazing speed and consideration.  He spoke in tongues as he worked his magic.
I’ve never really looked into the solution, but briefly reading through the Wikipedia entry, I now realize that the solution includes memorizing a set of algorithms that are used to perform specific operations.  The more complex the algorithm, the more useful the result.  That gives me hope.  I can follow an algorithm, but I’m not so good at memorizing.  Perhaps a cheatsheet of algorithms will do me some good until they are committed to long-term memory.  Any masters out there?
